About the Brand
Founded in 1881 near Port Askaig on the island of Islay, Bunnahabhain Distillery takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic “Bun na h-Abhainne,” meaning “Mouth of the River.”
Known for producing one of the gentler styles of Islay single malt, Bunnahabhain offers a distinctive contrast to the island’s typically heavily peated whiskies, with a focus on smoothness and maritime character.
Now part of Distell and one of Islay’s active distilleries, it continues to produce whiskies shaped by the sea, tradition and time.
