About the Brand
More than just its name, Ballina is home to the distillery — nestled between the River Moy and the Ox Mountains along County Mayo’s breathtaking wild coastline. It is here where the river’s pure, fresh water meets the in-flowing salty Atlantic Ocean, where calm meets storm, inspiring the character of every whiskey produced.
Opened in 2015, Ballina Distillery was the first distillery built in County Mayo for 150 years, bringing craft whiskey production back to Ireland’s West Coast. Built within the lovingly restored old Duffy’s Bakery on the banks of the Moy, the distillery was designed around authentic small batch craft production — milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, maturing, and bottling all completed on site.
