South East Technological University SETU Carlow campus, provides a level 6, 7 and
level 8 Brewing and Distilling Honours BSc. This bespoke industry inspired degree
programme was brought into being through the industry’s desire for qualified brewers and
distillers. The course provides applicants with all the tools they need to thrive in
this diverse and rapidly growing industry. The skills to manufacture analyse,
develop and market are core elements of the course. Our students are already in
place across the industry in Ireland and further afield. Filling the industry demand
for talented, trained industrially aware, engineering adept, scientifically capable
graduates, who understand the business and marketplace. Successful completion
of this course allows exemption from the Brewing and Distilling Diploma level
examinations to sit the Master level professional qualifications of the Institute of
Brewing and Distilling (IBD).
