Located in close proximity to the city of Glasgow, Glengoyne was established in 1833. Although it is located in the Lowlands, its water sourse is just over the Highland line. Recent releases have been excellent, as the distillery goes from strength to strength under the management of Ian MacLeod Distillers. It has three stills and produces 1.1million litres of alcohol per year. The distillery claims to have the slowest distillation process in Scotland. Six years are spent preparing the perfect oak casks before they receive their first drop of spirit. Barley is dried by air, and is unpeated.
